Shipping was quick and arrived and undamaged. The only reason I gave it 4 stars on easy to use was that it has such good adhesion that it is a bit difficult to separate the tape from the backing. I would highly recommend it! It has saved a family treasure in the book that I used on!
I know this is intended for book repair, but I used it for something a little different. I developed an allergy to my watch bracelet -- apparently the steel used in this watch is high in nickel, and somehow over the past year my skin became sensitive to it. After using a variety of materials to line the inside of the bracelet (including duct tape and fabric bandaids!), I stumbled upon this bookbinding tape. All the reviews said it was high-quality, with a strong but gentle adhesive, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. What do you know, it works perfectly for my needs! With the paper backing, it's easy to cut this tape to exactly the size and shape you need; and by cleaning the bracelet with rubbing alcohol prior to placement, I was able to get very good adhesion. The tape has been on for about 3 weeks with daily use and shows no signs of fraying or coming off. When it does start to fray, I'll have plenty of tape to replace it. In the meantime, I've also used this tape to line the sharp edges of my laptop and it works perfectly for that as well. Many varied uses other than its intended book repair application!
This book binding tape is pretty good. I have not tried other book tapes so have nothing to compare it to. However it seems to have done the job so far and the book is being held together. It was not real sticky but just enough to stay stuck to the book. It was easy to use and nice having peel and stick feature. All in all I am a satisfied customer.
I ordered this to finish a repair on a Bible that my wife had had for many years. The bound side had become worn and tattered. Although I was able to glue the worn and torn portions, it was still unfinished in appearance. This tape was the right size to allow a single strip repair. Its thin, much like silk cloth surgical tape. My wife is impressed with its appearance, feel, and durability to date.
Love this stuff!
